Delegates
Managers and supervisors who are responsible for
planning maintenance work or refurbishment projects.
Also those who have the responsibility to assure
their organisations compliance with the duty to
manage Asbestos.

Objectives
To give delegates an understanding of the dangers
of Asbestos and how to avoid exposing themselves and
particularly others to those dangers. Also to
understand how to manage such activities and when to
use specialists.

Introduction to asbestos: what is it, and why is
it so useful and so common.
Asbestos and your health why it is dangerous and the
diseases it causes.
Asbestos containing materials and their likely
location within buildings.
Asbestos and the Law - regulations, their extent and
effectiveness.
Asbestos Registers. Their variable quantity and
usefulness.
Safe Methods of Work. Licensed and non licensed work
Emergency procedures.
Questions and answers.
